The IBC OASIS Story
We are a Baptist church that began in 1977 as a home-church by missionaries with the objective of providing spiritual nourishment to the international community living within Daresalaam. As a multi-denominational congregation and with the numbers growing, in 1981, we began to hold our weekly gatherings on a basketball court at the International School of Tanganyika Lower Grounds.
After a Building Fund held for many years bore fruit, we moved to our own premises in 2003 – the IBC campus near Makumbusho Bus Stand; with a large compound and ample, secure parking. We are served by several deacons responsible for the various areas of responsibility all friendly and approachable for your every need.
The congregation has always been a transient one, with many members living in Daresalaam for the period of their contracts and then leaving entirely while others came in. We are also blessed with nationals among the expatriates, who have maintained sustainability and continuity leading to growth and progress over the years
Our current location affords a 500+ seating capacity with several rooms for small group meetings. We have a stocked library that caters for your reading needs with famous Christian literature.
What We Believe
… And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
